Good for mum
We have known for a long time that breastfeeding is good for babies. But did you know it’s also good for mums?
There is lots of scientific and medical evidence that women who breastfeed their babies have lower risks of breast cancer, ovarian cancer and weak bones later in life.
Breastfeeding also helps you burn calories and may help you lose your baby weight. That’s got to be good! It’s also free, totally natural and very convenient.
"The best thing for me was always having milk 'on tap'. I didn’t have to worry about sterilising bottles, getting the milk to the right temperature or even getting out of bed sometimes!"
Karen, 25, from Glasgow.
