Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
How can I make sure my partner doesn’t feel left out while I’m breastfeeding?
There are so many practical things he can do, such as talking to your baby, washing, dressing, reading stories, changing a nappy, or bathing. These are all important things for your partner to be doing, and they can be done by either of you or both of you together. There may be times when you wish to leave your baby with your partner and have some time alone, or with friends. You can, if you want, express your breast milk for your partner to give in a bottle, but don't feel you have to do this in order for your partner to get close to the baby. Compared to the many years of parenting ahead, the amount of time you will spend breastfeeding is relatively short. There will be many opportunities for your partner to have lots of involvement in bringing up your baby.
