Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
Is it possible to breastfeed twins?
Yes it certainly is! Your body will make as much milk as your babies need. Mothers can even breastfeed triplets. You will receive help to learn how to hold your babies so they can attach well and feed effectively. If they are small you may need extra help while they gradually get better at feeding. Twins tend to differ in their feeding habits, just as any other two babies may, and keeping them both happy may be hard in the early weeks. You need to feel confident, and to have encouragement from the people around you. You’ll also need help with other jobs in the house. In time, feeding becomes less intensive – and many women find breastfeeding easier than making up bottles of formula milk.
