Alan Weir
My name is Alan Weir and I’m the dad of Taylor Weir. [To Taylor] ‘Have you been a good girl today? Have you been good?’.
I was afraid to bring her home and what it would be like to have a new baby in the house. I just didn’t know what it was going to be like, but it was great.
Obviously, I’m at work and I can’t really see her during the day, but when I come home it’s bath time, and before it’s bath time we lie her down on her mat to get her changed and I get a laugh and a ‘goo-goo and ga’, and it’s just….it’s good.
Sharon always spoke about breastfeeding and she decided on it and I respect her for doing that.

In the first few weeks I think it’s very important for the mother, father and baby to get their bonding time other than everybody else coming, because the dad’s only got two weeks’ off work.
So I think that’s quite important, and I just kind of made that point and kept it that way as well. So, as we get our time together.

Whatever Sharon wants me to do I get it for her, I just do things for her whenever she needs it.
[Talks to baby]
‘Who’s a good girl?’
I cook her dinner because she can’t cook!
